This edition was published by Russian Yoga practicing followers of the Bhagavad gita; they have translated "Exploring the Bhagavad gita" into Russian, have purchased the copyrights from the publishers and have published this edition in 2014.
This edition was published in Hebrew by Carmel Publishers, Jerusalem, 2002. It was supported by a government fund furthering the publication of world Classics in Hebrew. The cover image is that of a South Indian Murti of four armed Krsna playing a flute, exhibited at the Wilfrid Israel Museum for Asian art. The Murti (image) has been contributed to the Museum in the early 1940's, and is said to be about 800 years old. Global Gita (GG) is our contribution to promote academic Bhagavad-gita studies in various languages around the world. In general, we believe that the Bhagavad-gita has much potential to contribute to Global Ethics, being situated not only Geographically but also ideologically between East and West. On the one hand, its ethics being grounded in Dharma, Karma-Yoga and Devotion to the Supreme correspond with Western Ethics such as Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics, Emanuael Kant's Categorical Imperative and Monotheistic Ethics.
